APOX

 There was Hope & Mercy...

Since Then over 100 kindred have travleled the lost highways as Apoxians in this hybrid industrial punk meets metal & experimental troupe/band: Apocalypse Theatre (also known as Apox) which has been around in name since the 90's.

Year after year, partly becaus eof the varied membership Apox has changed its sound like turning a page. From song to song, CD to CD, morphing  styles, genres & attitudes has become the norm. Maybe this is because because Apox is not just a band. Apox is the story of a circle of friends, one that begs to be told.

But telling a story that involves over 100 cast members is not easy. You see, Apox has destroyed itself in fiery crashes a dozen times over and risen again-reinvented.
Sure we could point out the stats... For instance...Apox has performed in 46 of the United States, and tallied well over a 1000 performances since its conception. From the deserts of Nevada's Burning Man festival to the Halls, Clubs, and basements of small town, suburban worlds, and big cities all across the USA. Apos has shared the bill with Pigface, Switchblade Symphony, Fugazi, Rozz Williams, Das Ich, Rosetta Stone, 45 Grave, 

Rhino Bucket and dozens of other notable underground favorites.
Apox has released 3 CD's (Angry Angels, Cain or an Open Vein, Lost in America) and each represents a home base. Starting with Wash. DC, then San Francisco, and finally Minneapolis where the core currently resides, some by choice and others...well that is another part of the story. I guess you could say To be Continued.

Apox is like a living journal, with an ever changing cast of dancers, manic mechanics, mutant cyber-pirates, punk rock hybrids, gutter goths, and metal misfits .

Hope Hillman & V. Mercy have alternated the role of Captain & co-captain, steering this Titanic love child since birth, and inspiring one mutiny after another, sometimes tearing the ship in half, sometimes drowning the crew & its cargo. Yet, despite the odds, a spark always survives, eventually reigniting the psycho drama on wheels to spin a new chapter.

There is no need for apologies.
Apox is not for everyone. Nothing isWith that said, we exist..

  Even if we do not always exist in the obvious ways of the media and its sister "the internet" Maybe Apox is a product of the times. A confused anti-body that shuns and hungers for attention. A virus in the entertainment stream. An anomoly. Something for those who want a dose of the unexpected, soemthing a little different and a little dangerous to accompany that last dance. That moment when you gather around a  fire, to laugh, scream, rage, run wild and crazy crying havoc and remmeber that to be or not to be is not always a question but a point of view.

If you are one of  them, then you are one of us and we might be your bad medicine.

We live in a perilous age, and the future seems uncertain, and I hera its always been that way. Go figure.

So while some of you may seek your security inside the box of scripted futures and processed food for thought, we remain wide open to everything ugly and beautiful and have no problem quenching our thrist with that hard shot of straight hard spirit.

In 2011 as Hope stares into the eyes of purity & innocence,
another mutiny is being scripted and  "V. Mercy de la Sangre" proclaims
that he is the Captain now.
